Tchuguri

Tchuguri is an Armenian sort of peaches.

In Armenia under the name of Tchuguri exist many forms dlifering from each other mainly in the period of maturation.

In Georgia only single specimens of this sort are met.

Tchuguri is sufficlently cold resistant, productive; vigorous, with a high dense top; susceptible to „leaf curl“; leaf large, wide lancet formed, dark green, recurved on the bords; flowers large, with a large pink corolla; fruit large, often very large, ovate, narrowing towards the base, with a pronounced up on the apex.

Skin thick, firm, ground colour pale yellow covered with pink dots and stripes; pulp firm, very fibrous, white, tinted, especially near the stone, good in flavor, very sugary, slightly astringent. Stone large, clinging.

Fruit ripen at the end of September. Are used fresh or canned for compote.
