Peen to flat peach - Synomys: Chineseturnip, Khatchapura (in Karthalinia).

This sort is of Chinese origin, ago introduced in Europe and America.

In Georgia it appeared first on the Black sea coast, from where has spread into other districts . It was cultivated in the famous peach growing economy of Lopatine (Gudauti). The flattebet form of the fruit makes its packing very easy. This sort in our environment is very much subjected to fungus diseares.

Tree

Trees in the young age grow weakly, later on develop and becom vigorous. Top bloomike, seldom ramified. One year shoots are of a grass green colour, tinted red on one side. Buds large, heavily pubescent. Leaf wide lancet formed, leaf straight, fine serrate, dark green, on the petiole 2-3 reddish glands.

Fruit

Fruit flat, 2.5 cm., high, 6 cm. wide, suture deep; apex lyig in a cavity. Stem short, thick, green, well attacted to the fruit.

Skin firm, greenish, yellow in colour, to one third overspread with a pink covering colour.

Flesh yellowish white, soft, not juicy, very sweet, with a pecullar aroma

Stone round flattened, with an uneven surface, clinging.

Time of ripening – the end of July.
