English reinette

English reinette can be found only in some districts of Karthli, and even there having no commercial importance.

The fruit is of medium size, seldom large, if on young trees and under optimal cimditions of nourishment; very attractive in appearance, flattened-rounded, variable in shape, not easily dropping.

Skin thin, at harvest maturity lemon yellow, with a golden blush on the sunny side, covered all over with small gray dots. Spots of scab are un frequent.

Flesh yellowish white, tender, of medium compactness, of a pleasant sweetish acid flavor and with affine strong aroma.

As to flavor English reinette to the number of exquisite dessert sorts.

Grop ripens at the end of September. Fruit keep till march, sometimes swelling and getting spotted in storage.

English reinette has following peculiarities: good hardiness to cold, early and simultaneous blooming, great susceptibility to Lasplyresia ponomella, heavy productivity.

High qualities of fruits, good productivity and relatively low reguisits to environment make this sort commercially acceptable for southern rigions.

English reinette is a valuable amateur sort.
