National Library at the Polish International Conference

on May 29, 2024. With the support of the National Library of Poland and the  IFLA Preservation and Conservation Center  a conference of European libraries was held on the theme: "Digital libraries - repositories today and always."

Representatives from European libraries in Poland, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Romania, Ukraine, Norway, and Lithuania participated in the conference, showcasing their experiences and current achievements in the development of digital libraries. The aim of the conference was to share experiences and advocate for the promotion of digital libraries. Maia Simonishvili, representing the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia, discussed the history and methodology of establishing a digital library at the National Parliamentary  Library of  Georgia, as well as ongoing projects.

The participants engaged in discussions on the possibilities for the development of digital libraries, the utilization of artificial intelligence in library programs, and issues related to professional development with the latest methodologies.

Chairing the conference from the National Library of Poland was Dariusz Paradowski, the main author of the first Polish digitization textbook, head of IT Systems Division at National Library and head of IFLA Preservation and Conservation Center Poland.  Thank You for the Warm Welcome!
