In the beginning of the 20th century in Tbilisi and some other cities of Georgia were created the government projects of constructing residential buildings. In mentioned period the general city plan of Tbilisi was established. The article concern these issues. In the article the general planning schemes of residential buildings in 1920-1930's and the typologies of the apartments, the steps how to provide the citizens with these apartments are discussed. At the end of the article there is the opinion of author, how to maintain the old historical residential buildings and how to renew them.
