Presence of terminological base is a necessary condition of existence of any science. The basic term of scientific studying of a choreographic art is the term "choreology".

In the special literature this term meets extremely seldom and is characterized by ambiguity, therefore in this work one of its definitions is presented: choreology – is one of art criticism disciplines which studies a history and the theory of a choreographic art, and also states a critical estimation of the daily phenomena.

Choreology is a collective term as includes scientific studying of all variety of dances: national-authentic, national - scenic, historical-household, ball, classical and modern (modernist style).
