The "Subjective" Methods of Understanding of Culture

Increasing demand for practical researches in modern world makes cultural-empirical sciences to look for adequate research methods. Methods of understanding, founded by Dilthai and hermeneutic method are still very important research instruments in anthropological practice, especially when investigating local cultures. However, there is a continuous scientific discussion about their validity in cultural-comparative researches. Phenomenological approach, founded by Husserl is still important which bases on direct observation and ability to perceive other people's fillings. The main distinguishing character of cultural sciences–subject/object divergence– makes understanding of emotional experience and conditions of culture's representatives the most important problem and reasons effectiveness and importance of "subjective" cognitive means–introspection, empathy and, accordingly, actuality and effectiveness of phenomenological methodology.
