It is impossible to achieve the real results in the fight against the corruption without creating a civil society which has to make the government to go against this evil to defeat it. We just make first steps in creating such civil society in our country. Also, this process does not go smooth and meet many problems. The people raised in the soviet times find difficulties in breaking free from the "Theory of bolt" according to which only the governmental branches have the power to make decisions about the country's fate, and the people have nothing to do with this. The fight against the corruption falls in the same category.
The situation becomes more complicated because of the attitude of the society. Sometimes you may even doubt if the society really wants to defeat the corruption.
Generally, the Georgian media tries to avoid speaking about this problem. I think the media is afraid to lose its rating.
